Bug sprays containing DEET will repel mosquitoes,
but if you prefer chemical-free solutions, try Harper's simple recipe: Mix two
teaspoons of any of the following oils: catnip, basil, cedarwood, citronella, juniper, lemon, myrrh, pine, rose geranium, or
rosemary with one cup of 190-proof grain alcohol. (If it's illegal in your
state, substitute with the highest proof clear, flavorless alcohol you can
find.) Place in a jar with a lid and shake vigorously. Then transfer to a spray
bottle and spritz liberally.
