Looking for a new Bible? May I make a suggestion?
Last year in a very in-depth search for a new Bible to replace my Confirmation Bible (which was given to me by the Pastor/Church back in 1985), I was growing very weary. My Confirmation Bible held such sentimental meaning, that it would be difficult to replace it with just any Bible. I spent many hours sitting on the floor at Lifeway Bookstore going through Bible, after Bible, looking for one that I liked. My search finally ended when I came across the last Bible I looked at (which I had passed over numerous times). It is the NLT Sanctuary Bible. It's a Women's Devotional Bible that is not only beautiful, but incredibly easy to understand and to read. I liked the Bible so much, that I told my Father about it. He bought one for my Mother. Then my Sister saw my Bible and liked it, so I purchased one for her on her birthday. My Mom loved hers so much, she bought one for her Sister. My Sister and I then bought one for our Sister-In-Law, which we will give to her for her upcoming birthday. My Sister has shared it with Women in her circle of friends and they have gone on to purchase their own. This wonderful Bible is spreading the "Word" and it just makes me smile!
The Bible comes in different covers, but I do like the plain bonded brown leather the best. I purchased mine at Lifeway Bookstore (Coon Rapids, MN) and they will engrave the front of your Bible with your name for around $3-5.
The price is usually around $34.99, but if you sign-up for their newsletters & emails, you will receive coupons on a regular basis for up to 30% off. They also often run sales on Bibles, so keep an eye out for that as well.
I encourage you to check it out! God Bless
